Dearest Jillian,
You're a funny girl.  Anyway, you're welcome for "taking care
of Jacqueline."  My friend Law(rence) is a pretty good influence
on me, as you guessed.  I've been having a good summer.  The best
of my life, actually, and I have Jacqueline to thank for some of 
that.  Lawrence to thank for the rest.  Of course, your approval
should mean very little to me, but I wanted to write you back and
say thanks anyway.  I hope the rest of your years at Rawley Academy
are spent better than mine were.
